Riverside takes the safety of our customers very seriously so, for your peace of mind, we are installing carbon monoxide (CO) alarms in all homes which have gas or solid fuel appliances. 

This is not a legal regulation but we want you to be safe. Unsafe gas appliances produce a highly poisonous gas called carbon monoxide. It has no taste or smell; you cannot see it but it can kill quickly and with no warning. Coal, wood, petrol and oil can also
produce carbon monoxide if flues, chimneys or vents are blocked.

You are particularly at risk  from carbon monoxide poisoning while sleeping, so if you do not already have one we will fit an audible carbon monoxide alarm in your home when we carry out your annual gas safety check.

A carbon monoxide alarm looks and sounds similar to a smoke alarm. We may install more than one detector to ensure that any
carbon monoxide release is detected.
