Retirement Living, 2016 and beyond

This summer our teams will be hosting consultation events for Retirement Living customers talking about how we plan to modernise services into 2016 and beyond.

Alison Halstead, Riverside's Head of Retirement Living, and customers looking at iPad usageAlthough more will be revealed at the sessions, Executive Director of Care and Support John Glenton says that excellence will be a central theme.

He said: “We want to invest in modernising our approach for retirement living so that we can deliver excellent customer services.

“As an example, we are looking at upgrading alarms, personal safety monitoring systems and other assistive technology which can give peace of mind not just to customers but families too.

“I am particularly pleased that for the first time we are also planning to have a dedicated national health and wellbeing team who will be co-ordinating the delivery of scheme-based social, leisure, health and recreational
activities for all our customers.

“Riverside wants to help people remain happy, healthy and as socially active as they want to be as the years tick by.”

John and his team are looking to ensure Riverside’s teams can provide greater specialist focus for customers. This includes  plans for dedicated staff to focus on maintenance, rents and tenancies, while others coordinate packages of support where needed and where it has been commissioned by a local authority or customers directly.
