David Bird, a Neighbourhood Housing Officer based in our Wirral office, passed away suddenly in August.

Dave was a vital part of Riverside’s housing management service for many years, having worked at the Wirral office for 18 years, following eight years in Sefton.

Neighbourhood Manager Kathy Dumbell said: “The levels of concern, kindness and care displayed by David to tenants, colleagues and the public were exceptional and reflected his commitment to providing a valuable service to the best of his ability and underpinned by his personal values.

“Dave unfailingly worked in an industrious, courteous and warm manner, even though sometimes the message he had to deliver was difficult and not the response that was hoped for. 

“Dave’s efforts often went beyond what might be considered the norm. Countless tenants were supported in their tenancies behind the scenes and often they were unaware Dave was striving on their behalf.

“Individuals with the personal characteristics of Dave’s calibre are rare and Wirral is now a poorer place.”
