Nuisance neighbour evicted

Riverside, which manages homes in York and across the UK, has been successful in evicting a nuisance neighbour that persistently failed to improve her conduct.

On 26th January 2016 Riverside obtained a Possession Order against Daryl Ridley of Coggan Close, York in relation to on-going anti-social behaviour that had not abated despite comprehensive attempts at intervention.

The complaints against Miss Ridley included, amongst other things, the Defendant and her visitors playing loud music until the early hours, banging and slamming doors, shouting and using foul language, threatening violence towards neighbours and damaging communal facilities.

Riverside, represented by Mrs Sarah Rogers of Forbes Solicitors, successfully obtained a Possession Order against Miss Daryl Ridley at York County Court on 26th January 2016. An Order was issued by the Court giving Miss Ridley a 14 day period to vacate the address. Miss Ridley failed to comply with this instruction and was subsequently evicted from the property by way of warrant of eviction on 9th March 2016.

Ms Rogers said “I am delighted to have been able to assist Riverside to achieve this outcome and bring to an end the disruption caused by this tenant, to the local community”

Keith Mullineux, the Defendant’s neighbour and a witness in the case said “Coggan Close is in a beautiful area and should be a peaceful place to live but due to the Defendant’s behaviour, things for my girlfriend and I have been extremely difficult.”

“This is such a great result, I am so grateful to everyone involved that we have got this fantastic outcome”.

Carl Beacock, ASB Officer for Riverside, said “Riverside has a zero tolerance approach to dealing with anti-social behaviour of any description. We are a victim focussed organisation and the matter had reached a point where the Defendant’s behaviour was causing a lot of distress to her neighbours. Despite comprehensive attempts at intervention the situation demonstrated no improvement so our hand was forced.

We are extremely grateful for the persistence and patience of our witnesses in this matter and the way in which this matter was managed at York County Court.”
