As members of Soka Gakkai, Riverside colleagues Esther and Kelvin “acknowledge and appreciate the alignment of the aim of our Buddhist practice with Riverside’s vision of transforming lives and revitalising neighbourhoods” allowing them to make a positive difference in their daily lives.

We are both members of Soka Gakkai International, a global Japanese Buddhist religious movement, based on the teachings of the 13th Century Japanese priest, Nichiren Daishonin, as taught by our first 3 presidents.

Our Buddhism of transformation teaches that we all have the innate ability to lead value creative lives and that we can have positive influence on our communities, society and the world by our daily practice of reciting chapters of the Lotus Sutra, studying the teachings and chanting NAM MYO HO RENGE KYO which enables us to reveal our Buddha qualities of Wisdom, Courage and Compassion and strive to make positive difference daily in our environment.
