To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week apprentices and trainees across Riverside have been sharing their amazing stories about how working with us has transformed their lives. As the week draws to a close there is still time for one more apprenticeship story. Suriena Thomson, 19 , is a Business Apprentice working with our income management team in North Bransholme.
Suriena told us ” I wanted to try out a new career path by getting a job which would give me wide business experience. I also had a talk with one of my friends who has taken a business apprenticeship and has now got a good job. I got very interested in the conversation and liked the sound of what an apprenticeship could offer me, so I decided to try it for myself.
The experience and knowledge I am learning means I will be qualified when my apprenticeship finishes that will help to get myself a job in Business and Administration.
If anyone is thinking about getting an apprenticeship I would say that they should go for it. It’s a fun way to learn about different aspects of the job. You gain experiences and knowledge from the study part of the apprenticeship and do all of this whilst earning yourself a wage. You also get to meet and create bonds with other employees and share experiences. It’s a great way to learn and become qualified ready to grab the opportunity to get a job at the end of it.”
To the team in North Bransholme Suriena has become a valuable asset and intrinsic part of the team and they were happy to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week 2016. Good Luck Suriena
