Mark Hoskisson, Resident Involvement Manager for Riverside talks about how we are continuing with our campaign to get more of our tenants, residents and customers to help shape the service we deliver.
“We have been running taster sessions across the country to get more tenants, residents and customers involved in our national customer involvement structure and have been pleased with the response, with over 40 people expressing their interest so far.
“This is an opportunity for them to tell us what they think, help us to shape the service or be the voice of their local community. We still have two more sessions to run, one in Irvine in Scotland (Tues 28 March) and another in Carlisle (Wed 29 March),
“The next step of the process is to assemble an Independent Selection Panel. They will help us select our new Riverside Tenants and Residents Federation Executive – who represent tenants, residents and customers’ views on formal consultation with us on policies, the Federation Scrutiny Panel – trained tenants, residents, customers who check our performance to ensure customers are getting the service they are entitled to. The panel will include five tenants, residents or customers, one senior staff member and one independent Board member.
“By taking part they can make sure that the new members are selected in a fair, open and transparent way and are representative of all our customers.
“They will be expected to attend three meetings in May and early June, a training session in April and a selection meeting in June. They will have to be a Riverside tenant, resident or customer, not be standing for any of the positions available, adhere to their tenancy agreement (a check will be carried out), attend the five meetings mentioned and travel to either Leicester or London (to be confirmed), Liverpool and Carlisle. In return we provide them with training and cover all expenses.”
