Riverside recognised for resident safety work

This month, Riverside was named as a winner in Inside Housing’s Resident Safety Campaign awards.

The magazine, which reports news, features and analysis on the housing sector, runs the Resident Safety Campaign every year to celebrate good practice from social landlords and spread good practice.

The campaign aims to shine a light on organisations that have worked with residents to raise awareness of safety issues, and help others improve their approach to health and safety.

We were named a winner for two videos we produced for customers, which explain the additional safety measures we’ve put in place for repairs appointments and for gas safety checks.

The videos were part of a range of activities we did to reassure our customers about how our services were adapting to meet the latest government advice on home visits during the pandemic, so that we could continue to look after you and your homes.

We also worked with Riverside Customer Voice Executive to plan how we could remobilise our services in a safe way, and support our customers through this difficult, unprecedented time. Their input and feedback helped us shape and improve our services, while helping you feel and stay safe at home.

Victor Andrews, a Riverside customer and Chair of the Riverside Customer Voice Executive said:

“During this uncertain time, what residents have needed most is to feel safe and reassured. Riverside involved the RCVE in their plans at an early stage and heeded our advice to focus their communication on safety and reassurance during this unprecedented period. The videos give a clear explanation of the measures they put in place for home visits, and how residents and Riverside can work together to keep each other safe and keep services running smoothly.”
