South Lakes Foyer is situated in the centre of Kendal. Access from Yard 95, Stricklandgate or the front entrance next to the bus station.

We help local people fulfil their potential and improve their quality of life by offering excellent facilities for a wide variety of recreational, cultural, educational and social opportunities. Including:
14 self-contained flats for young people age 16-25, with support if needed, to help them live independently.
A community resource centre with a Cyber Café, support groups, education and training opportunities.
Affordable office spaces and meeting rooms.

Cyber Café
Want to surf the net and enjoy a cup of tea or a coffee? Our Cyber Café has two computers for public use and plenty of space available if you want to come along with your own device and connect to the free Wi-Fi. Our friendly staff are on hand as well should you need any help or advice.
Charges:
- Use of a computer £0.50 for 30 minutes
- Photocopying and printing per sheet – £0.20 black and white, £0.30 colour.
Open 9am-4.30pm Monday to Friday.
Warm Space
Looking for somewhere to stay safe and warm? Feel free to come along and sit in our café seating area and have a warm drink. We are open from 9.30am Monday to Friday.
IT tuition
Basic course
Our free, friendly and informal courses will help you make the most of the internet and your device. We’ll show you how to use the internet and how to look use look after your device. The course is ideal for anyone who has never used a computer before or if you have limited computer skills.
Sessions include:
logging on to a computer
internet safety and security
browsing the internet
using search engines
setting up and using an email account
shopping online
job hunting online
downloading music
download your favourite apps to your device
using Microsoft Office
help with Universal Credit applications (book as a one-to-one appointment)
Advanced tuition
We also run a number of IT courses for more advanced users. These include: MS Office including Word and Excel , creating your own CV and storing online , accessing government website . These sessions are available on a one-to-one appointment, please just ask the team if you’re interested.
Microsoft Office (basic packages)

storage of useful documents and information
accessing useful websites
accessing Government and Medical Practice’s websites.
Multicultural services
We offer confidential and friendly support including immigration advice, social help, benefits advice and help with completing forms and applications.
There is a minimum charge of £5 for basic advice. This charge increases accordingly for any further assistance needed.

Conference facilities and meeting room hire
We provide affordable meeting room hire facilities and services to help local people and businesses throughout South Cumbria and beyond.
Located in Kendal town centre and easily accessible to the M6 and A6. We are close to public transport links and parking facilities. We are next to the bus station with a multi-story car park above. South Lakes Foyer is perfectly situated for hosting events, meetings and training sessions.

We have various rooms available for hire to suit all your needs and can arrange outside catering if needed.
