Ark House comprises of self-contained accommodation with support for up to eleven vulnerable young people aged between 16 and 25 who are registered as homeless.

The service works with customers to prepare them to move on into independence by supporting them to gain the skills required to manage their own future tenancies successfully.

Support packages are tailored to meet the needs of each individual.

Support Workers are present on site 24/7 and assist young people with all areas of support, including benefits advice, budgeting, cooking and training and education.

In addition customers are encouraged to get involved in activities including:

  • Workshops
  • Group Meetings
  • Social Activities
  • Surveys/questionnaires
  • Weekly Key working sessions
  • Involvement in staff recruitment

Our manager is on site from 9 to 5pm.

Facilities at Ark House include:

  • Communal kitchen/lounge
  • Communal lounge for meetings and activities.
  • Communal laundry

Referrals

Referrals to Ark House are made through the county’s START referral process. The local authority has 100% nomination right and all referrals to the service must come through this process.
