Specialist substance misuse and rehabilitation services
Riverside provides support services for customers in our schemes, to manage their recovery from substance misuse and addiction.
The continued misuse of any substance severely affects a person’s physical and mental health, social situation and ability to fulfil their responsibilities.
We offer a range of support, from harm minimisation to residential rehab and support to help people maintain their abstinence. Based on a ‘cycle of change’ which helps people move on positively with their lives, we use a range of psycho-social and educational programmes, many of which are peer led, in order to assist our customers to achieve a life free from substances.
By supporting people in their recovery, we open the door to safe longer-term housing, health care and education. This in turn, reduces their reliance on reactive healthcare while giving them the opportunity to start again and contribute to the local community.
Our innovative and pioneering services support customers and communities to tackle substance misuse range from establishing Health MOTs and health assessments- enabling NHS professional spotting early symptoms of TB, HIV and Hepatitis, through to the coordination of onsite drug counselling for clients and needle exchanges.
