New project launched to make Your Place cleaner, greener and safer

We have introduced Your Place, a new initiative  to Colshaw Farm aimed at making neighbourhoods cleaner, greener and safer.

This new service which was officially launched last week and will allow Riverside to maintain the day to day environmental works on the Colshaw Farm Estate.

The aim is to maintain open green spaces so that they can be enjoyed by everyone. The Your Place teams will be highly visible in their teal uniforms, they will deliver environmental improvements which include: grounds maintenance, fly tipping removal/litter picking, graffiti removal, sweeping of footpaths and other environmental works such as hard and soft landscaping.

Your Place will also work in partnership with the local authority, schools, tenant involvement groups and other community groups.

The introduction of Your Place will bring a standard approach which will benefit all residents on the estate.

Tenants and residents can report incidents of fly-tipping or other environmental issues and this will help to ensure that areas are kept cleaner, greener and safer for all who live there.

At the official launch residents were able to obtain information on the opportunities for getting involved including a litter pick, how to become a street representative, how to join the Estate Committee and the local tenants group and how to become a volunteer with The Snow Angels.

Cheshire East Council also promoted a “Vehicle Amnesty” where they collected and removed unwanted vehicles for free.

Steve Ward, Riverside’s Director said: “Your Place local services have been designed to combat what our tenants and residents told us concerns them the most about their neighbourhood. We hope that our customers will work with us to ensure that our neighbourhoods are cleaner and safer for everyone.”
