Through a £200k foundation grant we’ve partnered with Commando Joe’s on a two-year project in primary and secondary schools Carlisle, Hull, Tower Hamlets and Halton.  

Commando Joe’s is a schools education programme which targets pupils/schools with low attainment/high exclusion rates and aims to build character, self-worth and confidence in young people.  

They employ veterans as instructors to inspire young people.  

There are 12 primary schools across the four areas and 6 secondary schools (two in TH & Halton).  

They are looking to also develop the Secondary School pupils as mentors for the Y5 & Y6 pupils throughout the programme to help with the transition to secondary school too.  

Areas have been selected based on levels of anti-social behaviour. 

This is Commando Joe’s first partnership with a Housing Association and fits well with our commitment to supporting veterans.
