Employment and Training Case Study – Traycho

Our customer Traycho was referred to Nicola in the E&T team in July 2023 – looking for employment that was hands on. He had a strong desire to work and wanting a career that he can settle into and receive fulfilment from. However, he was struggling to find a suitable role. Our E&T team met with Traycho to determine what he needed to do in order to make himself more employable, and what we could do to help.

We helped Traycho gain employment in a fishmonger role over the Christmas period – which he was happy to do this to bring in work experience and money at the time, even though he knew that this was a temporary agreement, and the employment would end In Jan/Feb 2024. Nicola maintained good contact with Traycho and encouraged and supported him through the employment.

In March 2024 Traycho discussed wanting to do a form of online training which would help him gain employment – this was for a business development course as Traycho wanted his next employment to be a career. This was funded using the Helping Hands reward grant and Traycho started the course. Nicola also suggested he look for employment within Riverside itself.

At the same time as beginning his course, Traycho applied for a labouring role with Evolve (our in-house repairs service) – somewhere he had always been interested in working. On a successful interview Traycho gained full time employment and is now working for Evolve – in a role he is pleased with heading to a full career.

Traycho was able to gain full time employment in a career with Evolve. This has given him a value in what he does – employment and support to fellow Riverside customers

Feedback from Traycho:

Nicola gave me the passion and patience to keep pushing forward. I want to say thank you Nicola for everything and helping me through this journey to find a job.”
