Neighbourhood action plan underway

Riverside has produced an action plan that we hope will improve customer satisfaction, as well as our performance, in Longtown.

Our new neighbourhood planning process, which is being piloted in Cumbria, looks at services, performance and customer priorities at a local level.

Actions so far from the Longtown Neighbourhood Plan have included:

  • holding three consultation events with different stakeholders to establish community priorities
  • setting up a partnership of organisations, including police, councillors, community centre, Barnardo’s and the primary school
  • providing support to a kids’ club
  • basing a housing officer in the community for half a day each week
  • holding a responsible dog owner event
  • identifying new customers to get involved with community engagement.

The plan will be regularly updated and developed, continually improving the services to our customers.
