As a Care Assistant or Senior Care Assistant you would help people to maintain their independence.

It would be useful if you had experience in a caring role, but not necessary as training will be provided.

A good Care Assistant has a friendly and caring approach and the ability to relate to people from a variety of backgrounds.

Our  extra care housing gives older people, the choice to live in their own home with dignity and access to innovative, high quality and flexible service provision. Purpose-built, our extra care housing is an alternative to conventional care homes.

Successful candidates duties will include

• getting to know customers, their interests and their needs 
• helping customers with daily personal care such as washing, dressing, using the toilet
• carrying out general tasks such as housework, laundry and shopping 
• maintaining positive communication with customers families 
• working with other health and social care professionals to provide individual care and support plans.
• Shifts will be planned on a rota basis, and may include evenings, weekends or split shifts.

Could you provide physical support to our most vulnerable clients, carrying out a variety of domestic tasks to help improve their quality of life? Ideally, you’ll already have experience of working with vulnerable clients in a housing/social care setting. If not, you will certainly have the empathy, interpersonal skills and commitment to quality service that our clients need.

You will also need the organisational skills to deal with a range of administrative issues, as well as the sensitivity to appreciate how everyday housing issues impact on quality of life.

An understanding of the CQC Essential Standards of Quality & Safety is preferable
