Riverside recently teamed up with volunteers to give makeover to Thorpe’s Hub community centre.
Riverside have recently completed a new development of 36 homes on a former tower block site in Homethorpe, Orchard Park. The Thorpes Hub, opened about 15 years ago and is at the heart of the community.
After seeing that the centre desperately needed brightening up, Lee Bailey from Riverside contacted Dulux who agreed to donate all the paint and equipment needed, including brushes, rollers, overalls and sandpaper.

Volunteers from the community, Riverside and their contractors Evolve, and even “pirates” from Withernsea Pirates, turned up and gave their time to paint the centre.
Maxine Antcliff who runs the centre said “I am so grateful for everyone who came out in force to help us paint. I know that time is valuable but it just goes to show what community spirit we have around here. I can’t thank everyone enough and particularly to Dulux for their kind donation.”
Lee Bailey from Riverside said “We are allocated two volunteering days per year which we can use on work related projects and I am so pleased that my colleagues used one of their days to help out at Thorpe’s Hub. It shows how passionate we are about supporting and improving our local neighbourhoods.”
