Children got a taste of healthy eating and practical food skills thanks to Riverside and its specialist contractor, Sustainable Group (UK).
As part of its work with Liverpool East Youth Consortium, Riverside teamed up with Junior Chefs Academy to run a series of food education workshops across Knotty Ash, Yew Tree and West Derby.
Funded by Sustainable Group (UK) Ltd, the interactive sessions took place with young people from Priority Youth, M & H Academy, Deysbrook Village Centre, SMARTY’S and Tuebrook Hope Group, with the aim of helping young people make smarter choices about what they eat.
Riverside’s Community Engagement Officer Sophie Heneghan said: “All the ingredients, equipment, study materials, hats, aprons and recipe packs were provided, so the workshops didn’t cost our residents a penny. And the children got to take home their culinary creations for the whole family to enjoy.”
