Youth awards celebrate achievements

The achievements of young people and youth providers in Liverpool were celebrated at a special awards ceremony.

The youth awards ceremony celebrated young people in Liverpool who have gone the extra mile to help others

Liverpool City Council teamed up with Riverside, Cobalt Housing, LHT, Plus Dane Housing and South Liverpool Homes, recognising outstanding young people in the city.

Judges couldn’t choose just one winner for Inspirational Young Person of the Year so they awarded the prize jointly to Ethan Sheen and Mollie Farley.

Ethan was recognised for his voluntary work in The Hub, while Mollie was recognised for her involvement in the Priority Youth Detached Project.

Danny Graham is also involved with the Priority Youth Detached Project, part of the Liverpool East Youth Consortium, and won the Improving Physical Health Award for his work coaching young people in football.

Sophie Heneghan, Community Engagement Officer for Riverside, which heads up the Liverpool East Youth Consortium, said: “All too often young people are given a bad name, which is completely at odds with our experience.

“So we were delighted to be able to support these awards, which celebrate the valuable contribution young people make their community.”
