Partying pensioners get in the Christmas spirit

Partying pensioners from Langley enjoyed a Christmas celebration courtesy of their landlord, Riverside.

Tenants and residents gathered at The Demesne Community Centre on the Langley estate to enjoy entertainment and a Christmas buffet.

Alongside the festivities, the partying pensioners were able to receive advice from Boots and the Fire Service on how to keep safe and well at home throughout the winter months. They were also able to get a free health check, stock up on mini Christmas cakes, jewellery and festive goodies on sale  provided by Woodhaven Freespirit.

Sharon Thomas, Riverside’s Community Engagement Team Leader said: “Feelings of isolation can amplify at Christmas, which is typically a time of togetherness and celebration. Our annual Christmas party is a chance to encourage our older residents to get together and remain active in the community, as well as an opportunity to share useful advice on keeping warm and well throughout the season.”
