Once again, Riverside is supporting this year’s Liverpool Garden Competition, which now includes Sefton.

With many different categories to choose from, there’s no excuse for those who love their gardening not to enter. The categories are:

• best container garden
• best communal garden
• best community project garden
• best garden over 60s age group
• best garden under 60s age group
• best terraced yard
• best sheltered housing garden
• best themed garden
• best restricted impairment garden.

Initial judging by Riverside will take place in June. If you are successful, you will be put through to the main judging which takes place in July, when an independent judge will visit. Those shortlisted for an award will be invited to our magnificent awards evening held at the Devonshire House Hotel in October. The deadline for entries is Friday, May 20.
