This Dispersed Floating Support service supporting people across 50 dispersed properties in their homes and community across the Wirral.
The client group is people who have previously been homeless over the age of 18 and we provide our customers with a temporary home, we are the ‘stop gap’ between a hostel or similar and a sustainable tenancy.
We support our customers into sustainable tenancies by providing support with things like:
- Property Pool Plus
- Budgeting
- Taking care of their home.
- Help with paying bills, setting up accounts their water, electricity, gas providers etc.
- Helping them through the repairs process.
- Linking them in with local agencies to help with things like mental health and integrating into the local community.
- Supporting them through the process if they have any issues with the police or any anti-social behaviour.
- Helping to deal with Housing Benefit on their behalf too.
Customers will each have their own support worker who will visit them in their home or near to their home for 1 hour per week. The support worker is also available to help outside of this 1-hour meeting time. Each customer receives an individually tailored support plans that they work on together with their support worker.
The service itself is managed mainly from the office in Birkenhead.
The service is open 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday we are closed on bank holidays.
Referrals
Customers are referred through Mainstay. Criteria is they must be previously homeless and have low to medium support needs.
