London parking update

We regularly receive queries from customers in London about parking spaces.

We have around 2,500 parking spaces in London; some of which are managed by traffic management agencies on our behalf and some of which are not.

We are currently working to bridge that gap and put in place a solution which will create a fair and transparent process for the management and allocation of all spaces.

Until we have that solution in place, we are not operating a waiting list and will not change the allocation of any spaces.

This may be a frustrating answer for residents looking for a solution.

However, we have a duty to ensure that we have a fair and transparent process that is fair to all residents in the long-term.

Clare Foskett, Head of Housing for London, explained “Parking has always been problematic in London and we absolutely acknowledge that.

“We often get calls from people asking to be added to a waiting list for a parking space, to report issues with parking management and other things.

“In some cases, we have traffic management agencies who manage the spaces but in others we don’t. And we know that has to be fixed.

“So, we’re looking at solutions now and want to arrive at one which will be fair to all residents.”

Once we have put in place a solution, we will publish news on how that process will work to all customers across London.
