Irene, 61, previously lived in a one-bedroom first floor flat. She found herself increasingly isolated because she struggled to walk up and down her stairs. The local fire brigade raised concerns about her living situation which led her to move to Riverside’s Stephenson Court in Edge Hill.
Now living on the ground floor of the scheme, Irene joins in with lots of social activities making her feel more involved and less isolated. She especially enjoys the scheme’s breakfast club and is an avid crafter – she has created crafts she never could have imagined she would be able to make for herself.
She has pull cords fitted in her accommodation at Stephenson Court which gives Irene the peace of mind that should she need any extra help she can call for it.
Irene said: “Moving to Riverside’s Retirement Living was the best move I have ever made – I now have so many friends at Stephenson Court who have become like a second family to me.”
